General Notes
An eye catching succulent with golden yellow leaves, ideal for rockeries, borders, mixed gardens or succulent gardens or hanging baskets.
There is some cultivars available
- Sedum adolphi 'Firestorm' green-yellow leaves with red margins
- Sedum adolphi 'Lime Gold', lime green leaves with red-orange margins/tips
Propagation Notes
Stem Cutting
Firm wood stem cuttings. Cutting approximately 50 - 100mm long. Ensure cut clean across the bottom, remove lower leaves, flowers, seed pods if required, though the stem should be clear. Place to one side and allow the wounds to callous and dry for 1 - 2 days.
Premium Cacti Mix
1 part Premium Potting Mix + 1 part coarse washed Sand
Fill the tubes or 100mm pots with mix and firm down. Water pot of mix thoroughly with Previcur fungicide. No rooting hormone is required. Using a dibber press cutting gently into pot of mix, down until the cutting stands firm. Place in cold house, keep barely moist. Maintain cold house environment between 50-75% humidity and temperature between 18-25° C.

Leaf Cuttings
Select mature leaves and cut them off at the stem. Set aside for 2 - 4 days to callous over and dry the wound area.
2 parts washed Propagating Sand + 1 part Perlite
Fill the seedling tray with mix and firm down. Water tray of mix thoroughly wet with Previcur fungicide mix. Using a dibber, press leaf sections gently into tray of mix until it will stand firm, allow space between the leaves for the plantlets to form and grow. Place in a cold house with temperature between 20-30° C. Spray fortnightly with fungicide. Keep in bright but indirect light.

Fresh Seed
Collect the capsules as they are starting to dry out. Place in a paper bag to dry out thoroughly for 1 - 2 weeks. Rub the capsules between gloved hands to remove any seed that hasn't fallen out. Clean and store in a cool dark place.

Fill seedling tray BUT do not firm down. Sow seed, approximately 10mm apart, cover lightly with mix, then a thin sprinkle of fine gravel (2-3mm), water in well with Previcur fungicide mix. Place in a cold house. Keep moist but not too wet. Maintain cold house environment temperature between 25-30° C, with bright indirect sunlight.
