General Notes

The Vanda genus is one of the five most horticulturally important plants in the orchid genera, as it has some of the most magnificent flowers to be found in the orchid family. Grown in the tropics mainly for the cut flower industry. As an epiphyte it is best in hanging baskets allowing the large aerial root system to hang down, requiring watering daily and weekly feeding with liquid fertiliser. Vanda orchids are monopodial, meaning they grow from a single stem with roots emerging from the base and have no pseudobulb.

V. 'Fuchs Delight' cultivar originated from R. F. Orchids in 1982, Florida U.S.A.

Vanda's require temperatures in the range of 20 - 36oC with humidity around 80%, high indirect light conditions with light shade.
